So it seems I’ve gone from a bad blogger to an even worse blogger. It’s months and years between posts now. I’m sorry to everyone who follows me. I’m currently in “upstate” New York working for a family comprised of a single mom and two adolescents. I have also recently re-enrolled in school, this time at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Paralegal Studies.
Okay, now for the real reason I’m writing: I have an informational speech coming up for my public speaking class and my topic is “Traveling on a Budget”. I’ve spent nearly a decade traveling on a budget, but I want to hear the ideas and stories from everyone else. What did YOU do to get around for cheap? Room/Board, working, adventures, etc. Who did you meet? I want it all… or at least what you’re willing to share, even pictures.
I’ll even make some more posts about what’s been happening in my travel/nerdy world soon.
Thanks and lots of love,
So if you’ve read a few of my past posts, you’d know that I decided to leave Prague after nearly two years with the family. I’m going to miss them so much. We did a few last trips and exploring. Sophie, her sister Sharlene, and the twins had lunch with Klarka and I at TGIF the Friday before I left. My last gift to Klarka was a diary that she never let go of after I gave it to her. It was Hello Kitty. I loved my first diary as well and it never left my sight. She also received her first allowance as we decided it was best to star teaching her that money doesn’t just appear out of thin air. She loves being able to buy her own stuff now and pays Karin or pays for the whatever she wants (toys, gum, etc). I left Prague for a long trip… 8 flights in 13 days o.O
Karin and I went out for a fancy dinner… she somehow talked me into cow stomach (and potato) soup… surprisingly yummy 😀
Klarka seems to have become addicted to Minecraft. She played it on the subway on our way into the city.

Kinda blurry pic of Sharlene and Thomas.
Actually eating her lunch 😀
Thanks for the great pic, Sophie!!
Who needs an iPad when you have a balloon?!
“Helping” me pack.
Finally discovered the purpose of the masks we brought back from Venice, haha.
First allowance. Rich girl got 50Kč.
So happy I was able to give Klarka her first diary. A little girl always remembers her first diary.
Writing in her diary. I filled the first page and she’s started writing every night with the best handwriting she can muster 🙂
Playing around at the airport while watching the plane take off.
Blame the other!!
