Ok, so my April to June had to have been the CRAZIEST 3 months of my life. Not sure how I made it through, lol.
April-May: Literally, the moment I landed in Dallas, and turned my phone back on.. my best friend who was out in the arrivals area waiting for me with her daughter (my goddaughter), called me and said that she had oopsed and was going to be spending some time away from the family Well, she spent some time away. only overnights though… and then her group was deferred for a month.. so what do we do. We decided that her wedding that we’d put off until August was going to be planned in about 2 weeks. Now you see why I said crazy? We were. 2 weeks straight os staying up til 3am and waking up at 8am. I think I spent nearly the entire 2 weeks at their place driving her fiance mad.. fun for me, not him, lol. We did EVERYTHING ourselves, except for the food. Dallas and I split time on the favors and decorations, I did their engagement photos myself 3 days before the wedding. She and I spent the day with Mrs. Spencer and we actually got table clothes for the long tables. And thanks to craigslist, I found a place to get the rest of the tables clothes for all 10 round tables. Unity sand, invites, place settings, seating charts, etc. Sooo much stuff we did. Thank God she already had the rings, clothes, and hall booked. The wedding was gorgeous, but as the planner, I nearly had a meltdown. Think I’ll just elope or let someone else plan mine, haha. Dallas and Alex’s wedding turned out great!! They took a week long honeymoon in Galveston and I house/dog/chicken sat while the kids went to their other parents for the week. That was my May.
A couple wedding pics – Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Alex and Dallas Cruz 🙂 (plus combined kids: Cody, Josh, Abby, and Mia).
And special thanks to my best guy friend, Victor, who DJ-ed the wedding for me for free!! Thank you!!
June: June was my 3rd month home. June 3rd my Aussie bestie, Sarah arrived after spending a few days in San Fran. She was on a month long vacation. It had been a year since we’d seen each other, but thank you facebook and Skype for letting us talk almost everyday. We saw a bit of Texas, went to NYC for 4.5 days, and to Disney World/Universal Studios for 7 days. It was awesome!!!! We, unfortunately got rained on almost everyday we ventured outside the hotel, and I got a cold by the 2nd rainstorm.
In NYC, we met up with Sarah’s German friend Peggy and she showed us a bit of the city. NYC isn’t as exciting as we thought it would be. Time Square and FAO Swartz are smaller than they seem on tv or in the movies. BUT we did find a really amazing Toys’R’Us on Time Square with 3 floors and a huge ferris wheel. Yes. My first ferris wheel ride ever was in a Toys’R’Us on Time Square in NYC in a My Little Pony cart with Sarah, lol!! Staten Island Ferry, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island were closed because of the hurricane, Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, etc.
Can you see the Empire State Building? I took this as we were decending in LaGuardia:
Disney World was just as awesome as every little kid dreams… even though we were two 24/25yr old women running around Disney World with Minnie Ears, lol. We actually spent so much money on souvenirs in a shop near our hotel, the guy running it gave us Minnie Mouse snowglobes, haha.
We of course took the ferryboat to the island.
I was Mickey, Sarah was Pluto.
Repunzel’s tower… also soaked…
The ONLY Disney charaters we saw while at WDW: Woody and Jessi
Fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle, and then a light show. Phone died at this point, so I didn’t get a whole lot of pics:
Epcost wasn’t all that fun. We had a couple of really great rides in the beginning, but the rest of the day kinda sucked:
Sarah was Donald Duck.. and I was Goofy 🙂
Chevrolet’s new Test Tract game/ride… had no idea this was actually a rollercoaster. We were the very first group in that day. It was awesome!! Especially since the car we designed got first place!!
Soarin’ – a ride that ran out of fast passes by 11am, had a 2hr standby… and sucked.
Mission Space – talked Sarah into taking the orange more difficult ticket… it was AWESOME!!
The Seas – Finding Nemo:
Spaceship Earth – Ride of the future (aka,. the ride in the big golf ball, lol)
Bought this shirt in Africa. Certainly explains a day at Epcot – drinks all around!!:
Mexico – margaritas and nachos:
Norway – rode the Maelstrom which everyone/thing said was awesome… 30 seconds of boring 😦
Germany – a flashback for us both. Also bought souvenir glasses. Sarah got one for her mother’s bf, and I got one for Abby since we were going to arrive back just in time for her 5th birthday party 🙂 Oh, we also saw Snow White here!!
China – we got to see Mulan!!:
Africa – wear I bought my shirt, and Sarah bought a handmade wooden souvenir for her mother.. made by this guy:
We also saw Chip’n’Dale and Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
We didn’t get to see all of the World Showcase because we went to Epcot the day after Disney and were beyond exhausted by midday.
The ending highlight to our trip was Universal and Universal Islands all in one day. Wizard World of Harry Potter, butterbeers at the Three Broomsticks, and Chocolate Frogs from Honeydukes!! I wanna go back!! We paid a bit extra for the experss pass that put us at the front of nearly EVERY ride. Sooo worth it if you ever go!!
Dr. Seuss Landing
Jurassic Park – we hadn’t had any raid this day… until we decided to get on the river rapids ride.. then we were soaked twice as bad, lol.:
KrustyLand: This was Sarah’s choice of places to go. Even her id holder was the Simpsons.. mine was of course Transformers, haha. We ate at KrustyBurger.. with a Flamin’ Moe:
Harry Potter world!!
Lunch at the Three Broomsticks: butterbeer, fish and chips 🙂
and last, but not least, HOGWARTS!! There is the BEST ride ever in there. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I def recommend putting your stuff in the lockers out front first because you’re not allowed to take them in, but make shure you have a camera or phone that’ll fit into your pockets because you’ll most def want to take pics. I wish we had, but we never got a chance to go back and take pics.
We went over to Universal because of the awesome park hopper 🙂
Dispicable Me Minionize Me ride
Awesome Mummy ride – part movie, part coaster 🙂
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls water ride – I first road this when I was 14… it was even better.. except I had to apologize to the guy in front of me ahead of time because I scream extremely loudly. He said, “Don’t worry, I’ll probably scream loudly, too.” lol:
We actually ended up going to Universal on the perfect day… Gavin DeGraw just happened to be performing on this day. Total luck of the draw!! Love Gavin DeGraw!!
Universal was sooo awesome that we stayed so late we missed thebus and caught a taxi back to the hotel 🙂
Well, that was our adventurese of June… now you can see why I was sooo busy while home in texas, but sooo glad to be back in CZ 😀
