I can’t believe it’s already March… or that I haven’t updated in nearly 2 weeks. Let me see if I can think of all the events of the last 2 weeks. Btw, if you see places where an “F” is suppose to be or are too many, just leave a comment. My “F” key keeps popping off, lol.
Well, after Karin and I returned from Germany, it started snowing. Didn’t stop snowing til Monday afternoon. Ended up with nearly 3 feet of snow. Since my package arrived while no one was home the Thursday before, the post office asked that we actually show up and get it. I had to spend an hour digging the car out of the driveway and the road just to go to the post office and the grocery store. Almost thought I wouldn’t be able to get back in. Most of the snow is gone now because we actually got up to the midteens (Celcius) the past few days, but looks like it’ll be back to -10C sometime next week.
Karin and Klarka spent the week at Pension Modrin again, enjoying the nice ski weather. I spent the week relaxing, attempting to sleep late, and working on these Easter projects. For some reason, I kept waking up at 7am, haha. Just my luck, when I need to get up at 7am, I can’t.. when I don’t need to, I’m wide awake. Ended the week by going out with Sophie to see Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (awful movie btw) and going out for drinks at a few pubs she’s been to. Actually had a great time. It’s nice to get out and have some girl talk that doesn’t involve our families or the kids. Had to talk her into a tequila sunrise.. she’s had tequila before, but doesn’t remember it, haha. No, no binge drinking for us girls, just a couple of drinks and chatting. Still finding it odd to not be carded anywhere that’s not the US, lol.
We’ve been working hard to get these Easter projects finished because the party will be here soon. We are making 3 small egg pinatas currently. I’ve made several bunny and egg hanging decorations made of fabric and stuffed so they can be used in the future. Klarka has been helping and loving it… except she keeps popping balloons before we can get them covered in paper. Scares her like crazy every time, but doesn’t seem to deter her. Not sure if my visa will be here in time. I’ve checked in with the embassy and it’s still in processing. I don’t really want to miss the party or Klarka’s or Karin’s birthdays. I would arrive only in time for our June vacation. The embassy seems to be jerking us around. I might have to spend 3 months back home in Texas or in Ireland or Cyprus.
Oh, so we’re looking at several places for a vacation in June and September. In June, Karin wants to spend a few days hiking in the Fiss-Ladis region of the Austrian Alps, then continue on to the Croatian seaside. Of course, this would all be a road trip. About 650km to the lodge in Austria, then another 650km to the cottage at the sea… with me driving. HUGE road trip. I don’t mind driving highway though.. as long as I don’t have to drive city at all. Then September, Karin has a conference in Monte-Carlo, Monaco for a week. I somehow talked her into taking us!! She would spend the first few days in meetings while Klarka and I explore, and she can introduce Klarka to her colleagues. Then when the meetings are over, we’ll have an extra few days for exploring for all of us. I mean, when’s the next time I would EVER be able to go to Monaco!! But this is all a big MAYBE. Just prospective plans for the most part. My Aussie bestie, Sarah, and I are planning for a week in Dubai in December around my birthday, that’s a definite plan I’m looking forward to.
Well, I’ll either be leaving for home (Dallas) soon or be staying. I’ll keep y’all updated as much as possible.
