Hey everyone, sorry it’s probably been awhile since I last posted, don’t hate me. I really need to post a little more often.
Well, we have just been getting back into our daily routines. Karin working, me teaching and Klarka going to kindergarten. Sadly, we’ve all been sick on and off so it’s been home office and sitting at home for the past week and a half. We got out and went to Centrum Babylon in Liberec. The drive was fairly easy. Around 100km in about an hour… only because Karin is scared of the highway and I love driving 160-180kph 😀 The building was nice, except for the smoke and bad parking lot across the street. The IQ Park interactive museum was fun, a little hot, but still fun. Klarka loved it. Glass maze. Black lights. Electricity. Water exhibits. So much fun for Karin and I, too. We went to the AquaPark that was also situated inside the building. A bit of a let down, but next time we’ll just go to the one in Prague. Supposed to be so much bigger.
We’ve been going to the local schools so Klarka could interview for a spot for September. A Montissori school in Prague, a larger local town school, and a small village school… guess what? Klarka was accepted to the Montissori school!! She’ll be attending the private school come September. I’m so excite for her. For those of you that don’t know, Montissori is a style of learning that includes learning at your own pace and from your peers.
This school is based on that type of learning. There are also 2 Montissori high schools in the area. Romama’s son Oliver attends 4th grade there, and Alexis was accepted with Klarka. Each classroom has 1st-3rd grades and two teachers (1 Czech, 1 English). Klara is doing so well. She’s learning so fast. We’ve worked up to small, but full sentences with proper English and grammar. It’s only been a month and a half, imagine what she could accomplish in a year. I’m so excited for her. She is definitely a very visual and physical learner. I have come up with or found several games on Pinterest that she has taken a liking to. Like we have words on strings with wooden clothes pins. Flash cards we play matching games with. Blocks for building and patterns. Fun for both of us 🙂
Well, y’all, I’ll definitely have more soon. We (Karin, Romana, and I) are going to Dresden, Germany next week. Then Karin and Klarka are leaving for the mountains for another week of skiing… that means a whole week of sleeping late and lounging in my ‘jammies… so excited!! From the US to Australia, to all my friends: I miss y’all bunches and Happy Valentine’s Day 😀
