I didn’t get a single wink of sleep last night due to a Kookaburra that was sitting right outside my window. I swear if I could, there woulda been one less Kookaburra in the state of Queensland. I got up around 8:30, but didn’t start cooking until a lil after 9am. A bit of tweaking my recipes and things turned out great. The turkey legs were a bit dry, but that wasn’t a problem once we had gravy 🙂 It’s amazing how a single plate of food can fill you up and put you in a food coma, ha ha. This was my first ever Thanksgiving dinner that I cooked myself: BBQed turkey legs, cornbread casserole, broccoli and chese casserole, and cresants. We were gonna make a cake, but just never got around to it.
Today was also the end of a 118yr rivalry between us, The Fightin’ Texas Aggies and them, the Texas Longhorns. We had a rivalry that defined college football and split families every Thanksgiving. Now all these great traditions of old army are going down the drain due to petty greed over a tv network owned by the Longhorns. Today’s final game shows just how far that team will go to get what they want. How did they win? The referees and several blown calls, as well as calls that didn’t even exhist. This game will be talked about forever in the world of football. Them t-sips don’t know what it’s like to win fairly… (yes, I know that wasn’t proper grammar; it wasn’t supposed to be. They regard us as hillbillies.. we see them as tree huggers). Final score: Texas A&M University 25 – University of Texas (aka tu. aka t-sips) 27.
Took a small 2 hour nap, but even that couldn’t make my head and stomach quit hurting. Seems like the less sleep I get, the sicker I feel. Not going out tonight. Might just go to bed early. Saturday off too.
Goodnight all 🙂
